French design brand Lexonʼs collaboration with Jeff Koons on the Balloon Dog sold out almost instantly when the first edition dropped in 2025 — the transparent Lamp and Speaker found their way into collectorsʼ hands across 90+ countries. Now the Chromatic Collection lands for 2026: the Lamp in Platinum, Gold, Blue, and Red; the Speaker in White, Gold, Blue, and Red — US$800 each, shipping September, strictly limited to 2026 with no reissue.

Why that long? Because this isnʼt a case of stuffing a few LEDs or drivers into an off-the-shelf shell and calling it a day. The Balloon Dogʼs form — the twists, the folds, the transitions from thick to thin — is sculpture. Getting 400 LEDs or six active drivers plus four boosters inside that shape, while preserving the crystal clarity of optical-grade polycarbonate, and engraving Koonsʼ signature onto every front paw — every step is a tug-of-war between engineering and art direction.
The result? On the Lamp side: nine colours, nine lighting animations with sub-effects, 200 lumens. Twist the nose for stepless dimming; tap it to cycle effects. The real party trick: infinite Daisy Chain via proprietary Easy Sync — line up five or ten of them, all shifting colour in unison, and your entire room rides the rhythm. On the Speaker side: 360° immersive sound, TWS stereo pairing, Bluetooth 5.3, hands-free calling. Nose controls volume and playback; ears handle track skipping and calls. Ten hours of battery.
Letʼs be honest: at US$800 a pop, youʼre not buying a lamp or a speaker — youʼre buying a Jeff Koons-signed collectible that happens to light up and play music.
The market is full of artist collaborations where someone slaps a name on and calls it a crossover. This isnʼt one of them. Spreading 50,000 hours of R&D across a time-limited, quantity-capped product line — Lexon clearly isnʼt trying to make a fortune off this collection. Itʼs a statement piece: what would the Balloon Dog look like if it were a functional object? That starting point alone earns respect.
